Graphics Design

Graphics design is a way of conveying ideas through visuals and design. They work creatively, both in print and electronically.

Their work is to  create visual text to communicate ideas that attract consumers. They design for advertisements, brochures, magazines, logos and posters.

It is the role of a graphics designer to use colors, texts, images, and symbols to create their design. They are also known as Graphics artist. Their duties often include meeting with clients and they also need to present their ideas based on feedback of clients.

They use their skills to do their work hence use different types of materials and software to combine images and texts. They usually use design software  to complete their work such as  Adobe Photoshop.

Some work as freelancers while others are part of agencies or company. They need to be creative and innovative and also  up to date with the latest software to remain competitive.

A good Graphics Designer ensure that branding is compatible as the content  is what a customer notices first.

Graphic Design is important in the marketing of a product or services.  They should have lots of ideas and good knowledge in design techniques.

In their work they have to  communicate with clients . They also team up with marketers to create successful products.

Their primary focused on how something looks and their skills are very important. Sometimes their work schedule can demand overtime when they are busy working with many projects.

Types of Graphics Design

There are different types of graphics design such as

  • Visual identity which deals with the visual elements of the brand via shapes, colors and images (for example logo design, typography. )
  • Marketing and advertising which is used directly to generate leads and sales via print ( brochures, flyers,) or digital (social media posts, banners, videos).
