Horticulture: Ile aux Aigrettes

A reforestion is being done by the “Mauritian Wildlife Foundation” on Île aux Aigrettes during this rainy season. 200 vetiver plants and 98 endemic plants have been planted since January 2022. Invasive exotic plants are removed and replaced by these endemic species. The objective of the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation is to plant 160 endemic plants, including Bois de Fer, Vacoas, and Bois Binjouin, on this island by the end of 2022.
