Diverse Offerings

The Ministry of Agriculture-Industry and Food Security is preparing for the upcoming alternate edition of the Salon de l’Agriculture at Sir Gaetan Duval beachfront in Mahebourg Waterfront, in collaboration with Radio Plus, and offering free entrance. The event is part of World Food Day.

The Salon offers 235 fairs catering to various tastes and budgets, featuring organic and aboriginal shops, food products, crafts, theater, and husbandry materials. It caters to professionals in the husbandry sector, shop enthusiasts, and those interested in healthy products.

Exciting Food & Demos

Hassen Taher Seafoods Ltd offers 70 seafood and fish creations, Basmati Rice from STC, Maniodix cassava products, Innodis Ltd flesh products, and Anooradah Poorun’s ‘Secret Grand-mère’ medicinal sauces.

ENL Agribusiness produces vegetables like tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers above ground, using hydroponic products with lower fungicide levels. At the Smart Agriculture stage, attendees can learn about reducing fungicide use in food crops. Golden Valley in Vacoas offers advice on hothouse cultivation and FAREI.

Innovative Detox Tech

Caffeine Délices’s device, manufactured in Malaysia and Japan, can detoxify food products by eliminating fungicide residues in vegetables, toxins in fish, and growth hormones in chicken.

Climate-Resilient Agriculture

The Salon is a one-stop shop for purchasing fresh vegetables, shops, and flowers at promotional prices. It also offers a public exploration of new agriculture styles adapted to climate change impacts, including protected cultivation, rainwater harvesting, composting, ministries, and agricultural equipment demonstrations, including netting for fruit protection.

Forestry & Organics

The Ministry’s Forestry Department will provide agroforestry advice to farmers, featuring indigenous shops selling ebony. The department will showcase theater and agricultural machinery from Farmers Home ministries, Honda, Vergo, and Farmers Home. Organic farming can be explored at stands from Roger Fayd’herbe & Co Ltd, Solid Waste Recycling, and Blychem.

The Fair is open from 10:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs. Entrance is free.
