Expo-Vente Showcasing Local Agro Products in Réduit

Prioritizing food sovereingnty in MauritiusIn celebration of World Food Day, the Ministry of Agro-Industry and Food Security hosted an exciting expo-vente from Thursday, October 17, to Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Agricultural Services compound in Réduit. This event aimed to promote local agricultural products while raising awareness about food security and sustainable practices.

The expo-vente featured the participation of various departments and parastatal organizations operating under the Ministry’s guidance, showcasing their initiatives and contributions to the agricultural sector. Attendees enjoyed a vibrant display of products from farmers, livestock breeders, tea producers, beekeepers, and small to medium enterprises specializing in agro-processing.

This three-day event provided a unique platform for local producers to engage with the public, highlighting the vast array of agro products available in Mauritius. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the benefits of these products, explore potential growth and expansion opportunities, and witness firsthand the transformative processes involved in agro-processing.
