The Ministry of Finance disbursed an amount of 600 million rupees to help the community of planters and their families affected by the damage caused by the cyclone Batsirai. Part of this money will be used to repair public infrastructure and amenities. The Fishermen Welfare Fund will provide an additional assistance of bad weather allowance for fisherman.
After Batsirai those incurred losses , the Development bank of Mauritius will extend a new Rehabilitation Loan scheme for planters of sugarcane, vegetables, fruits and Floriculture. For supporting the local market , The Ministry of Agro-Industry will import several vegetables and farei will supply seeds to the planters.
