A new partnership for sustainable agriculture

Minister Maneesh Gobin addressed a message to the participants at the Food Systems Summit, organized by the United Nations. The message was about a proposal for a Global cooperation to improve food systems. According to the minister, the Covid-19 outbreak has shown vulnerabilities as well as systemic inadequacies in several countries’ food systems, including Mauritius’. Mr Maneesh Gobin has also proposed a new partnership for sustainable agriculture. 

In addition to illnesses, he states that the country’s food system is subject to many other factors. Those factors are namely climate change, water scarcity, land degradation, flash floods, biodiversity loss, epidemics, and other factors. A ray of hope might appear through this conference and his proposal for a new partnership for sustainable agriculture.
