Facilities Made to accelerate the re-emergence of tea sector in mauritius in budget 2022-2023

Tea Sector 

To accelerate the re-emergence of the tea sector, the Mauritian government is providing the following facilities.

• The winter allowance has been raised from Rs 1.50 to Rs 2.00 per kilogram.
• At the tea plantations of Nouvelle France, Grand Bois, and Bois Cheri, Rs 6 million has been allocated to restore roads and construct proper drainage systems.
• At a subsidized cost of Rs 10 per unit, 10,000 tea plantlets will be given.
